Dingle Tasting Tours is a new business based in Dingle Town. We provide a walking history tour with an exciting mix of tasting and sightseeing in Irelands No. 1 foodie town. Our experienced guides will take you through the beautiful port town of Dingle, visiting some of the towns best food and beverage locations while providing you with plenty of local stories and information.

Dingle is a town rich in history and tradition

Dingle and the surrounding areas are steeped in ancient traditions with settlements on the Peninsula dating as far back as 5,000 BC. Many historic sites and landmarks can still be seen today from Celtic ring forts and beehive huts to churches and monasteries dating from the arrival of Christianity in the 5th and 6th centuries. Originally a Norman walled town, Dingle became a thriving fishing port in the 14th and 15th centuries exporting fish, meats, butter and animal hides. This tradition formed the base from which Dingle grew it’s famed Food & Drink culture.

Once cited as ‘The most beautiful place on earth’ by the National Geographic, Dingle was voted among the top 100 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor and was recently crowned the ‘Number 1 Foodie Town in Ireland’ by the Sunday Independent.

Where and how can I book a food tour?

You can book the tours by clicking here.

Is there sightseeing or just food?

It is a mix. We give you a sightseeing tour through Dingle, its local places and stories. And you will get a great overview and tastings of the Irish/Dingle food and alcohol.

What is included in the tour?

Food and beverage (including alcohol) tastings in the locations we visit are included. As well as a Dingle sightseeing tour.

What type of food and alcohol do I get at the tastings?

The tastings may vary but you will get a lot of food. Arrive hungry. You will get typical Irish food like e.g. fish, chowder, stew, beef, quiche and alcohol like e.g. Gin Fizz.

I’m allergic to certain food. Can I participate on the tour?

Yes, you can and we will try – but cannot garantee – to adjust tastings as best as we can. However you need to let us know about your allergies already during the booking process

I’m Vegan. Can I participate?

Yes, you can. But unfortunately the traditional Irish food we will get at our locations is not very amenable to vegan diet. You may not enjoy most of the tastings.

How long does a tour last?

The early tour lasts about 1.5 hours while the afternoon tour and drink experience last about 3 hours.

How much walking?

Each tour is about 2km / 1,2 Miles walking. It is easy and slow pace walking and we stop and rest in the tasting locations

How many people in each group?

There is a maximum of 12 people in a group

Do I know upfront which tasting locations I’m going to see?

No. This remains a secret until the tour starts.

Infants and children

The tour is not suitable for infants and young children. Infants and children below age of 12 cannot participate on the tour. The tour is for adults and young adults 12+ year old only. Alcohol will not be served to persons under 18.

Will the tour happen when it rains?

Yes, the tours happens in any weather condition. The Irish weather is often rainy and can change fast. Have rain gear handy.

Meeting location

Meeting point varies depending on the tour, you will be notified in your emails of the exact location.

What happens if I arrive late?

Unfortunately we cannot delay the tour. Call us and we will advise how to meet up with the tour.

Can I buy a Dingle Tasting Tour gift certificate?

Yes, we offer gift certificates for one or two people. You can browse our gift vouchers here.

Can I cancel or reschedule a booked tour?

Yes, you can reschedule or cancel a tour up to 48 hours before the tour starts. Or you can transfer your booking into a gift certificate. A rebooking fee of 15% of the purchase price applies.

How can I cancel or reschedule a booked tour?

Cancellation and refund policy

A fee of 15% applies for any changes to bookings.

48 hours or greater prior to tour start:

– A booking can be cancelled, rescheduled or transferred to a gift certificate.
– If you request to reschedule we will make every effort to accommodate you for your new requested date.

Less than 48 hours:

– Unfortunately we cannot entertain any changes to bookings 48 hours prior to tour starting.
– In this case there is no refund of the purchase price.

No-shows:

Dingle Tasting Tour cannot provide refunds or alternative dates for no-shows.

We reserve the right to cancel a tour if the minimum required number of participants is not met. In this case a tour can get cancelled and you get the entire tour price refunded.
